Getting here

This event is taking place at our Falmer campus in the Checkland Building.

Here's a map for our Falmer campus.

By car: Parking for this event is at our Moulsecoomb campus with free shuttle buses running to take you to the Falmer campus. You should add 20 minutes to your journey.

Please input the full address and not just the postcode into maps apps otherwise it will send you to the wrong place - Moulsecoomb Parking Facility, Saunders Park View, Brighton, BN2 4GJ. AA signage will be in place to guide you to the location.

By bike: Cycle lanes run from the city centre along the A270 Lewes Road to Falmer. Cycle stands monitored by CCTV are provided on the campus.

By bus or train: The Falmer campus is well served by public transport.

Falmer railway station is a short walk from the campus, Moulsecoomb is one stop away and Brighton mainline station three stops away. Check the Southern Railway website for the latest information.

The 25 bus service runs from Brighton city centre to our Falmer campus. Visit the Brighton and Hove Bus Company website for their timetable.

When you arrive

When you arrive at the Falmer campus please head to our Curriculum Centre which is on level 4 of the Checkland Building.

We will need to scan your QR code when you register which you'll find in the emails we'll send you after you've booked.

Registration for the event is open from 11am.

Please note: We are also holding an undergraduate open day on 16 November which has a different registration point. Our campus will be busy but please ask any of our student ambassadors wearing a blue t-shirt if you need help finding the Checkland Building.

Why train to teach at Brighton?

  1. Graded 'outstanding' by Ofsted in 2024 for primary and secondary Initial Teacher Education and 'good' for early years and further education.
  2. Our trainee teachers benefit from excellent employment rates after graduation that are consistently above the sector average.
  3. Specialist classrooms and labs that replicate those used in schools.
  4. Our Curriculum Centre has over 30,000 resources spanning all national curriculum subjects.
  5. Partnerships with over 600 schools and colleges where you’ll gain school-based training in a wide range of settings – large, small, rural and urban.
  6. Learn from staff who were teachers themselves prior to their academic career so are fully experienced in the classroom.
  7. Support after you qualify through our early career teachers support programme.
The course team are absolutely incredible! I can’t fault them for the amount and quality of support they provided during my study. On top of the pastoral side of things, the course team really know their stuff in their specialist areas! This really gives you massive confidence in what you are learning and then applying during practice later on.
